Trip to Keraton Yogyakarta (Yogyakarta Palace)
Yogjakarta Palace (Keraton Yogjakarta) is one of many place
in Yogjakarta have to visit. Keraton Yogyakarta is the central of Javanese culture that still strong . It has a variety of cultural heritage, whether in the form of ritual or ancient artifacts and historic. It’s do difficult to
think skipping a visit to Yogjakarta Palace when in Jogja. Since the location
is very strategic at Central of City
between Borobudur Temple and Prambanan Temple and also Mount Merapi and Parangtritis Beach.
Keraton Jogjakarta was established in 1755 during the reign of Sultan Hamengkubuwono I. Keraton’s environment is divided into several
section.
1 Keraton Kesultanan Yogyakarta
This is place which Sultan live in. Here we are able to see
court(alun-alun), main room of keratin, and information about family tree of
Sultan Hamengkubuwono.
2. Museum Kereta Keraton Kasultanan
This is place to keep horse-drawn carriages, carts, and any
traditional vehicles. It’s located nearby Keraton ( South West of Alun-alun
Utara). The uniqueness of each the traditional vehicles,they are named and every
1 Suro (Javanese Calendar) they are bathed. Many people want to see the bathing
procession.
3. Mesjid Gede with Kauman Village
This is the most fenomenal building in this village. This
Masjid was built since 16 years Keraton Kesultanan established. There a many history
here that attrack to note.
4.Museum Sonobudoyo
The only one museum that keep several kind of collection in one museum. The kind of
collection are Archaeology, Biology, Ethnography, Historika Numismatika,
Filologika, Keramologika, art and technology.
5. Traditional Food Gudeg Yogyakarta
Gudeg is traditional vegetable dish made from jackfruit.
There ar two type of gudeg, Dry Gudeg and Wet Gudeg. The taste is quite well
since cooked with Indonesian original spices(rempah-rempah). It’s very easy to
find gudeg in every corner of Yogyakarta.
6.Tamansari
Tamansari is park with many flower grow. Tamansari was built
during reign of Sultan Hamengkubuwono I. The original purpose built the park is
for relaxing after wars.
